Offline files are the easiest to handle. Most office application and DTP file types are compatible with my translation environment.
Content management systems are just as easy to integrate into my workflow.
CAT systems (computer-aided translation) are the tools of choice for any translation professional. I work with SDL Trados Studio and Across.
